Google appears to be preparing a much-requested quality-of-life improvement for its Pixel Buds lineup. According to a recent report, the company's wireless earbuds could soon introduce the ability to mute and unmute voice calls directly with a tap.
While Pixel Buds currently offer gesture and touch controls for media playback and virtual assistant access, an on-ear call mute shortcut has been notably absent. Introducing this feature would make handling conference calls and everyday conversations significantly easier without needing to interact with a paired smartphone.
Details regarding the exact timeline for the feature's rollout and which specific Pixel Buds models will support it have not yet been officially confirmed. Even so, expanding the touch controls would be a welcome addition for Pixel users looking for a more seamless hands-free experience.
