Apple is rolling out iOS 27.3, bringing the refreshed StandBy experience originally launched with the iPhone Duo to a broader selection of iPhones. The update ensures that the modernized smart display features are no longer exclusive to the newer hardware.
First seen on the iPhone Duo, the updated StandBy interface enhances the glanceable display mode used when the phone is charging in landscape orientation. With this latest release, owners of other compatible iPhones will be able to take advantage of the refined look and functionality.
While specific hardware requirements and variations across older devices remain to be seen, the rollout marks a welcome expansion for users looking to get more utility out of their devices when docked or resting on a nightstand.
