Meta continues to evolve its approach to wearable hardware with potential shifts across its immersive and smart eyewear categories. According to a new report, the company is looking beyond the traditional, bulky headset design, working toward VR glasses that offer a much more compact form factor.
In tandem with these display-focused changes, Meta is also exploring adjustments to its audio eyewear. A new model, referred to as the Ray-Ban Meta Audio, reportedly ditches the onboard camera found on standard models. This would shift the focus entirely to open-ear sound, voice assistant integration, and everyday convenience.
By dropping the camera from audio glasses and slimming down virtual reality hardware, Meta appears to be addressing key user concerns, including comfort, form factor, and privacy in public spaces.
