Google appears to be actively developing a next-generation Google TV streamer, according to a recent report from 9to5Google. The upcoming device is slated to bring notable hardware upgrades to the company's streaming hardware lineup.
Among the key new features are integrated microphones and presence sensing technology. These additions suggest the streamer could support ambient smart home capabilities, allowing it to detect when someone is nearby and accept hands-free voice interactions.
The hardware refresh is also expected to include a newly designed remote control to complement the updated streaming unit. While full specifications, launch timelines, and pricing remain unconfirmed, the project signals a refreshed push into living room entertainment.
