Enthusiasts looking to squeeze every bit of performance out of high-end silicon have found a way to drastically increase graphics card power ceilings. Using a custom VBIOS editor, the RTX 5090 can reportedly see its power limit jump from 600W up to a massive 800W.
The same tool also brings substantial changes for existing hardware. According to the report, the RTX 4090 can now be pushed to a 700W limit, unlocking additional power delivery headroom for extreme performance testing and tweaking.
While these custom modifications show how far modern GPU architectures can be driven, such dramatic increases in power consumption demand robust hardware configurations and advanced cooling setups to handle the heat.
